From someone who has an intense experience with infant loss in the past, I felt it was absolutely necessary for me to find a doula that would have me, my family, and my soon to be newborns best interest at heart. I was looking for someone who would advocate for me in every area from prenatal appointments, to birth, to postpartum and that's exactly what she did. I needed someone who would be on the front line with me and Perri was an exceptional advocate. I was able to contact her any time of the day and she usually answered on the first ring. If she missed my phone call, she was calling back within the hour or some time the same day. Perri supported our family tremendously during labor and birth. I cant recommend her enough! She helped my husband have peace of mind during labor! she not only supported me but she supported my husband. She helped keep him calm and collected. When I had to be transferred from a birth center to a hospital, she helped my husband and I make a decision on which hospital to be transferred to. Do not hesitate to choose Perri as your doula! She is super supportive, knowledgeable and resourceful. I am active duty military and my partner does not live locally, Perri came to all my prenatal appointments so that I would not feel alone. She is well known and connected in the San Diego area so if you have any special or unique needs she can help. For example, my baby was originally breech and she recommended a fantastic turning babies practitioner. I also struggled postpartum with my milk supply, she was able to put me in contact with a really good and mobile lactation specialist. Whether you are delivering at balboa or at a birthing center, Perri will be with you providing guidance every step of the way!

What an amazing experience having you by my side during labor and delivery. I was not even thinking about using a doula until my nurse recommended it. My God am I glad she did! My plan was to labor for a few hours before getting any anesthesia. You came right in time to coach me through my last hour of labor before I finally requested an epidural. Through the whole process after, you were by my side. When the epidural wore off prematurely the counterpressure you applied helped tremendously to ease the pain. Giving me that extra hand to hold while getting through my contractions all while communicating with the nurses that I was feeling pain. If it were not for your I don’t think my labor would have been so stress free. You were very comforting and soothing and really just someone to lean on. Your presence put my fiancés mind at ease as well and he was able to get some rest during thanks to you taking over. You seriously

were the cherry on top of this beautiful experience and I can’t imagine having done it without you. Perri was the best doula there is! I honestly wouldn’t have made it through birth without her! I started labor at 1pm March 8th 2023 and my beautiful baby girl arrived March 9th 2023 at 8:58 am. It was 2am when she walked in the room and me and my husband were so defeated at that point and she walked in and saved the day she literally was an angel and god sent! She knew exactly what positions to put me in and she helped me push I wouldn’t have it any other way thank you Mrs. Perri for being there we will definitely need you for our next baby!

My water broke late at night, and I was admitted in the early morning hours, and Mrs. Perri showed up a couple of hours after I was admitted. The energy she brought with her when she entered my room was so soothing and comforting. I wanted and had a natural birth which lasted 26 hours, and she stayed with us through the entire 26-hour labor! With a natural birth moving around, and staying relaxed are essential. Before my partner arrived, she filled in for him and kept me company, talked to me and kept me relaxed with her essential oils ,and helped me move in and out of bed into different positions with the peanut and birthing ball. When my partner arrived, everything kicked up, and she kept talking to him as I was transitioning through the different stages of labor. My partner did an excellent job which was only enhanced by Mrs. Perris's experience. She was able to read the room and help him in helping me in the best ways possible. Toward the end, I wanted to give up, but Mrs. Perri held my leg up as I pushed. She might have gotten splashed a little, but she didn't seem to mind. I am so grateful to have had her as my doula. Thanks to her, I was able to have the birthing experience I wanted and bring into the world our beautiful baby Amelia. Her support didn't stop after I gave birth. She followed up with us a few days later and pointed me in the right direction in our breast feeding journey. She gave me the resources of a great lactation specialist that helped us continue nursing. She also visited and checked in on us about two weeks later with a beautiful at-home visit. If you think you want a doula, it does make a difference. We 10/10 would recommend Mrs. Perri and her services for expecting mothers, and fathers!

Words can not explain how amazing Mrs. Perri Grant was as our doula. She was our doula for the birth of our first baby girl Amelia. I wanted a doula because my partner and I are stationed in different states. We decided that we just wanted us and maybe the doula present at our birth, so we did not plan for my mother to be present, but I was afraid that I would go into labor and he would not be able to fly in on time for the birth. It's scary as a first-time mom to think of going through this moment in life with strangers who not only has to be present for your birth but have other patients to care for. Being in the medical field, I felt comfortable with all the medical talk. Still, my partner does not quite understand all the medical talk, so I wanted someone to be there for him to explain things when I was not fully paying attention or able to explain as I focused on the birthing process.

When I met Mrs. Perri back in October of 2022 in person we had an amazing connection. That is actually was my initial worry, connecting with my doula. I had the pleasure of having Mrs.Perri as my Doula, who was always there for me! As I went through a breakup during my pregnancy she became my support person at doctor appointments. She would check in and offer help as needed. A great person, funny, relatable, and bubbly personality all around. My baby waited for her to come back from her trip and decided to make his debut just in time lol. She was there with me at the hospital over 12hrs. I Went from natural to epidural; She comforted me mentally/emotionally when I was crying due to my switch in my birth plan. I had Terrible back labor pain, her massages were clutch and I changed positions soo many times because of it. My baby boy came out 9lbs 10oz! Glad I had the epidural ?. GREAT DOULA!

Perri was absolutely amazing before, during and after the birth process. She was there obviously for my wife, but also me as well. She made sure my wife had everything she needed and really helped advocate for her needs and assist in any way she could, offering suggestions on different positions, massaging and just being a great support system for us. I was able to comfortably get a much needed power nap with her there and was able to leave to take care of the pets at home since labor had lasted over 24 hours at this point. I was comfortable knowing she was there to get her water or juice or anything else she needed and look after her while I was gone. She helped my wife with her breathing and guiding her on pushing when it was time to, until our beautiful daughter was born. Her amazing upbeat attitude during the whole experience was a welcome addition to have with us. She captured our amazing first moments with our baby girl for us on my phone so we could have those treasured memories forever. She was also there for us when my wife had to get readmitted for postpartum preeclampsia. I had to leave, but I needed someone with the baby in the hospital room since my wife was the patient and couldn’t be alone with her. She came to sit with mommy and baby so I could leave and come back with supplies from home for my wife and baby. She’s just a tremendous woman and a Queen to help take care of my Queen.

Doula Perri can truly only be described as God-sent! Each step of the way she provided excellent, personable, professional, and compassionate support by advocating for medical care and assistance. As a first-time mom, I did not know what to expect during pregnancy. On top of trying to navigate pregnancy, I also was apart from my husband who is military for weeks during my second and third trimesters. Perri attended appointments with me and did wellness checks on me often to ensure I felt okay and had access to any needed resources! My experience with Perri felt so genuine, she acted as my doula but provided comfort that you’d feel from a loving family member!!! My pregnancy was complication free which is a reflection of all the help Perri provided by ensuring I found the right medical providers to care for me! Perri became on-call for any needs, questions, and concerns once I hit 37 weeks. She provided great knowledge and suggestions on how to prepare my body for a smooth labor and delivery (yoga ball stretches helped TREMENDOUSLY). She openly discussed any questions or concerns my husband had, and she encouraged him on how he could be of great support during pregnancy and postpartum. Perri helped me create a birthing wish (birth plan) that made me feel confident with all the options necessary in any situation. During my labor, Perri arrived at the hospital before I was in active labor and provided techniques to help with pain management- thus allowing me to dilate further. Perri helped me stay calm through contractions and assisted the medical team with ensuring I was comfortable. When it came time to push Perri assisted my husband, and the medical team, and provided direct support to me- allowing me to push with full concentration and confidence. She motivated me and kept me cool during the pain!

Perri came highly recommended from a birthing center where I was receiving my maternal care. As a first-time mom of course I googled her! I wasn’t able to find much online but what I could find seemed positive. From initial contact, getting to know one another, explanation of services and finally signing our contract, Perri communicated with my husband and I every step of the way and always answered my 10,000 questions. They say if you want to make God laugh, make plans— Around my 32nd week we found out I had a condition that required me to be admitted to the hospital and scheduled for a c-section. This was a MAJOR DEVIATION from the birth I had envisioned. Perri helped calm my fears and help me begin to accept my new normal. In the two weeks I spent in the hospital she stayed in nearly constant contact along with coming to the hospital to sit with us. When the big day came, Beyoncé of Balboa Perri was in her element! She made sure everyone had themselves TOGETHER honey! From the staff, to my doctors, everyone took their time and explained to us what was happening, how it would happen and why. I could not have imagined a better outcome given the fact that this was not the birth I wanted but it was the one my baby needed to keep him safe. I have no doubts I would not be where I am mentally without her. I can say with confidence ALL of my babies with have the same doula ❤️ FIVE STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 HIGHLY recommend!

My wife and I had the pleasure of having Sandy & Perri as our Doula's for our sons birth. Me being a first time dad I didn't know what to expect in the delivery room. There's a lot happening that can be overwhelming for the mother in labor however, many times that same thing can be said for the father. If I could give Perri any more stars I would give her a million. As a first time mom, finding a doula was integral for my birthing experience. As a woman of color it was important for my husband and I to find a doula, especially of color. After our initial meeting with Perri, we knew immediately we needed her! She is incredibly uplifting and nurturing and although I was nervous about giving birth, I felt supported and prepared. She went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable in every aspect! At 30 weeks when I told her I was uncomfortable at my original birthing hospital she pushed to get me into a new one. From the first time Perri and I spoke I knew it was meant to be. I called her for a quick introductory chat, and she responded immediately. I could tell she loved what she does, and that’s a special energy not everyone can provide. It was my first baby so I was super nervous, but during our meetings she answered my questions with no judgement. I felt prepared for birth, and if at any point I didn’t, I knew I could call her. I had some issues with my epidural in the hospital and when I told Perri I need her there she was there quickly, no hesitation. At that point I had been in labor for about two days, and once she got to the hospital and we used some of her techniques we were able to quickly get the baby low and out within a few hours. I genuinely think she helped that process go smoothly. If you feel like you need an advocate, emotional guide, and confidant, Perri is the one for you.
